For This quarter's project I decided to work on developing my skills with drawing faces. I decided to do this because I have found that I really like to draw faces. It is also an important skill to have for a future in art. To build this skilI have been doing approximately one drawing per day that I have class. All the drawings are done in Pencil. The technique that I use involves finding the parts of a person's face that make them recognizable and then exaggerating them or emphasising them. Most of the people I drew for this project are musicians. For the final product I photographed a drawing every step or so. I then took all the pictures, (around 40) and stitched them together in a video editing program to show the progress of the drawing and my process. The video turned out pretty good for my first time doing it. In totality I think I was very successful in accurately replicating people but I think I could work more on drawing faces from my own imagination instead of just drawing what I see. However I think the skill building that I did with drawing what I see will help me alot with drawing better faces from my imagination. As much fun as I had drawing and getting more comfortable with faces, I think next quarter I will challenge myself with something different, that will push me out of my comfort zone.
